“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” I’ve spent the last ten years listening to young people and urban communities about the problems that they face. They have constantly told me that they feel unable to effect change, and that they are powerless. Many of those same people have turned around situations of great suffering, to make a positive change to their communities by overcoming power imbalances between them and the establishment. I share a few of the lessons I have learnt here.
- Setting the standards of higher education– I have been part of (and a senior member of) teams that have built standards for the operation of universities.
- Teaching the leaders of tomorrow– I teach law at universities and am a consultant on courses for international lawyers, as well as a Programme Director of my own online course.
