Through his work as Environmental and Social Justice Officer at the University of Nottingham, he has spearheaded substantial changes to student life at the University, including both the establishment of parking permits exemptions for disabled students within the community and assisting with the University’s acquisition of a £700,000 grant to be put towards environmental projects. It must be stressed that this role was taken on a voluntary basis alongside his studies, showing Michael’s desire to be heavily involved in causes which are close to him. An outstanding public speaker with a natural flair for politics, his well-mannered and friendly personality has resulted in Michael being successfully elected as a result of two exceptional Students’ Union campaigns, recently acquiring the position of Nottingham University Students’ Union Community Officer, a position within which he will provide a very high quality of service to his Students’ Union.
